What is MATIX?

MATIX, a startup that originated as a spin-off from the Padua-based SME AzzurroDigitale, represents a cutting-edge solution designed to digitalize the management of industrial equipment such as molds. This solution integrates an advanced asset management software - MATIX EAM - and an IoT device, MATIX Box. The combination of these technologies enables the digitalization and automation of mold maintenance and management processes, collecting detailed data on tool usage and efficiency in a cloud platform. MATIX EAM is a DIGITAL MANUFACTURING TOOL MANAGEMENT Platform that simplifies the lifecycle management of molds by digitalizing maintenance processes and automating efficiency analysis. This platform enables centralized and transparent asset management, facilitating information access and improving collaboration among various actors in the production chain. MATIX Box, on the other hand, is a compact IoT sensor designed to be installed on molds independently. This device collects data on usage, production efficiency, and real-time location, transmitting this information to the cloud via the cellular network. MATIX Box uses a high-precision accelerometer to measure impacts and movements, ensuring reliable and accurate data collection.

Financial Support from the PR FESR Veneto 2021-2027 Call: Development of the EAM Platform

Our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform has recently benefited from support provided by the PR FESR Veneto 2021-2027 Call, a regional program aimed at promoting growth and innovation in the local production fabric with a contribution of €117,507.57. This call was designed to contribute to creating a competitive, innovative, and sustainable production system, focusing on the digitalization of businesses, citizens, and the Public Administration (PA).

Context and Objectives of the PR FESR Veneto Call

The PR Veneto FESR 2021-2027 emphasized several key objectives, including:

  • Fostering Digitalization: Supporting the digital transformation of businesses, improving efficiency and competitiveness through the adoption of cutting-edge digital solutions.
  • Supporting Technology Transfer: Facilitating collaboration between research organizations and companies, particularly innovative startups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and skills.
  • Developing New Skills: Training young researchers and professionals with advanced skills in research and innovation, thus promoting the inclusion of new qualified resources in the job market.
  • Encouraging Sustainability and Decarbonization: Promoting projects that contribute to pollution reduction and sustainable resource management, protecting the region’s natural, landscape, and cultural assets.

Our EAM Project and the Call

Our EAM platform development project aligned perfectly with the objectives of the PR FESR Veneto Call. Thanks to the received funds, we were able to implement a series of improvements and new features that significantly enhanced our offering. These include:

Thanks to the support of the PR FESR Veneto 2021-2027 Call, we were able to develop an advanced EAM platform that offers numerous advantages to our customers. The new platform enables complete optimization of corporate resource management through various innovative features.

Performance Management

With the new platform, customers can effectively manage performance thanks to automatic data on cycle counts, cycle times, downtime, and efficiency, available if the native MATIX Box is connected. Additionally, real-time location tracking is available via IoT, allowing for more precise asset management. Tools without an IoT device can be added to the database, with the possibility of manually entering data or connecting them to the ERP system.

Maintenance Management

The platform offers detailed maintenance management, including a complete list of components for each tool, the ability to set triggers and alarms for each component, activity descriptions, and the upload of documents and photos with instructions.

Document Storage

Regarding document management, the platform allows the upload of documents and photos, management of public and private documents, and offers dedicated accounts for suppliers to view or upload public documents and photos.

Tool Information

Each tool has a downloadable database, including commercial and technical data, and every modification made is tracked to ensure transparency and traceability.

Tool Status

The platform allows the creation of an unlimited number of tools, with the ability to track every modification. The tool status is always available to promptly check the reasons for downtime.
